Job Description:
Alliance Ground International (AGI) is one of the largest independently owned ground handling companies providing services to over 100 airlines in 61 airports across the U.S. and Canada. Our Cargo Division is recognized for operational excellence, safety, and customer service. The Cargo Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all cargo warehouse and aircraft handling operations at the station, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant movement of cargo while delivering exceptional service to airline customers. This role provides leadership for warehouse personnel, cargo agents, supervisors, and support staff while maintaining operational performance, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned.
  • Reports directly to the Station Manager.
  • Oversee daily cargo warehouse operations, including import, export, mail, transfer, and special cargo handling.
  • Ensure compliance with customer service agreements, airline requirements, and AGI operational standards.
  • Determine staffing levels and equipment requirements necessary to support operational demands.
  • Direct and coordinate personnel and equipment to ensure timely cargo processing and aircraft servicing.
  • Monitor cargo acceptance, build-up, breakdown, screening, documentation, and delivery processes.
  • Ensure compliance with TSA, FAA, CBP, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain safe operating procedures and enforce company safety policies and standards.
  • Monitor operational performance metrics and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Conduct employee training, coaching, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions when needed.
  • Maintain accountability for company assets, cargo inventory, facilities, and equipment.
  • Foster strong relationships with airline customers and respond promptly to service issues.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external agencies to support operational needs.
  • Support audits, inspections, and customer reviews.
  • Identify opportunities for operational improvements, cost savings, and business growth.
  • Assist with budgeting, labor planning, and operational forecasting.

Minimum Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Aviation Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
  • Must pass a drug test, background check, and be able to obtain airport security clearance.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and lift for extended periods.
  • Must be willing to work in warehouse and airport environments with varying temperatures, weather conditions, and elevated noise levels.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and around moving equipment and aircraft.

Qualifications
  • Three to five years of progressive management experience in cargo operations, warehouse operations, logistics, airline cargo handling, or aviation services.
  • Strong knowledge of cargo handling procedures, dangerous goods regulations, and airline cargo operations.
  • Working knowledge of TSA, FAA, OSHA, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing union and/or non-union workforces preferred.
  • Experience with cargo management systems and warehouse technology platforms.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications.

Location / Specific Working Hours
  • Must be able to work extended hours during irregular operations, peak periods, and operational disruptions.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Must be flexible to work various shifts, weekends, holidays, and irregular schedules.

Warehouse and ramp operations schedules are constantly adjusted to flight operations. Adjustments are made monthly, weekly, and in many cases, hourly.
