Job description

LMR Technical Group (LMR) is seeking a Physical Therapist to join our team.
Location: Moody AFB, Georgia
Job Description:
The Physical Therapist will support US Air Force fighter squadrons as an embedded asset under the Optimizing the Human Weapon System (OHWS) program. You will help maximize the physical readiness and long-term health of fighter aircrew by addressing musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries, particularly related to neck and back pain caused by flight demands. As a multidisciplinary team member, you will be an important part of the injury prevention, performance enhancement, and rehabilitation aspects of fighter aircrew.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct MSK Evaluations and Interventions.
  • Design, Implement, and monitor individualized injury prevention and rehabilitation programs.
  • Order Imaging, Labs, and Specialist consultations as needed.
  • Documentation of work performed in approved electronic record systems.
  • Educate Aircrew and leadership on injury prevention, ergonomics, and recovery strategies.
  • Comply with all DHA, DoD, and MTF protocols.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Doctor of Physical Therapy from CAPTE-accredited program.
  • 3+ years' experience as a PT in Collegiate, Professional, Olympic, Tactical (military), Aerospace industry, or similar environment supporting man-machine high-performance. Experience must include recency within the last 2 years.
  • Current (or ability to obtain prior to start date) healthcare provider Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification including Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen to obtain Secret security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years' experience as a PT in Collegiate, Professional, Olympic, Tactical (military), Aerospace industry, or similar environment supporting man-machine high-performance. Experience must include recency within the last 2 years.
  • At least one of the following:
    • ABPTS OCS or SCS certification; or
    • Orthopedic or Sports residency / Fellowship Trained; or
    • Advanced Dry Needling Certification (Level 2) and Orthopedic Manual Therapy (OMT) Certification.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Expert ability to assess injury as well as treat acute and chronic conditions.
  • Strong clinical decision-making and documentation skills.
  • Effective communication with Aircrew, squadron leadership, and multidisciplinary team members.
  • Knowledge of DHA and MTF electronic documentation systems
