About the role
PKL Services Inc. is contracted to maintain and operate Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) F-15SG and United States Air Force (USAF) F-15E aircraft and equipment assigned to the 366th Fighter Wing located at Mountain Home AFB (MHAFB), Idaho. PKL employees at this site are subject to a Union/Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) regarding employment terms and work rules.
The Structural Repair Technician contractor is responsible for performing aviation structural repair, corrosion control, and composite repair on assigned aircraft for the customer.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Perform duties as defined by applicable Air Force Instructions (AFIs), along with any USAF-like functions typically performed within their associated career field. This includes structural repair, corrosion control, and composite repair on Wing assigned aircraft.

โ€ข Corrosion functions include full aircraft, parts and support equipment prepping, sanding, bead stripping, painting and stenciling IAW approved directives and technical manuals.
  • Respond to requests for structural determination assistance and evaluate per aircraft or equipment specific technical order to determine repairability.

  • Research the materials and equipment needed to complete the repair and provide to the requester for ordering.

  • Repair the item for the aircraft or equipment and perform any corrosion control or coating requirements necessary to ensure the item is fully mission capable.

  • Assist in drafting suggested repair actions as part of an ETAR request.

  • Follow engineering instructions or guidance in repairs not addressed by an equipment specific Technical Order.

  • Provide quality training, oversight, and guidance of repair efforts to RSAF and USAF personnel as opportunities present themselves.

  • Any and all other duties as directed by the Program Manager/Site Manager.

About you

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

  • Prior qualified /certified 7-level Aircraft Structural maintenance technician with a minimum of six (6) years' experience or equivalent.

โ€ข Must be able to pass a medical screening and have no limitations for respirator qualification.
  • Must be able to obtain and retain a Secret security clearance.

Compensation & Benefits

Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
  • May be required to work in areas in or near a hangar/ flight line that may be noisy at times.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud at times.
  • Work may be performed on top or under equipment in cramped or awkward positions, including the F-15 cockpit.
  • May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind.
  • May be required to wear personal protective equipment when in or passing thru a hazardous area.
  • This position requires normal physical functions.
  • Work may require frequent bending, reaching, and climbing.
  • May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to fifty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers.
  • Normal color/depth perception.
  • No record of emotional instability.
  • Must be able to pass a medical screening and have no limitations for respirator qualification.
