About the Opportunity:

Are you passionate about aviation maintenance and inspections? Our client, a global leader in jet engine maintenance, is seeking a skilled Surveillance Inspector to join their dynamic team. Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations on powerplants and associated parts.

  • Execute inspections and required inspections (RII) as mandated, ensuring compliance with company and FAA standards.

  • Verify the use of approved tooling and data during maintenance tasks.

  • Record all inspections accurately in accordance with company procedures, including generating and signing FAA Form 337 for major repairs and alterations.

  • Review corrective action entries for completion and proper signoff.

  • Oversee airworthiness release duties by reviewing maintenance logs and ensuring all documentation is properly authorized.

  • Conduct receiving inspections on incoming parts to ensure compliance with company standards.

  • Report all issues affecting airworthiness to the Lead Surveillance Inspector.

  • Perform borescope inspections, troubleshoot engine parts, and oversee CFM Technicians’ work for quality assurance.

  • Monitor and enhance compliance with company and FAA standards through meticulous paperwork processing and in-process surveillance signoffs.

Requirements:

  • Certified mechanic or repairman under Part 65.

  • Powerplant License.

  • Minimum of three years of borescope experience.

  • Proficient with hand and pneumatic tools, including troubleshooting and part repair.

  • Capable of reading routers and OEM manuals and performing basic repairs.

  • Experience with Quantum aviation software preferred.

  • At least two years of experience with CFM56-3, -5B, and -7B engines.

  • Must pass a yearly DOT vision exam.

  • Physical requirements include standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs., with regular exposure to chemicals and industrial equipment.
