Job description

Mechanical Maintenance Technician — $40.00/hr
Shelbyville, KY | Full Time | Relocation Package Available

Troy Design and Manufacturing Co. is hiring a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to keep our plant running strong.

If you're the person who can hear a problem before it becomes a breakdown, this one's for you. You'll diagnose, rebuild, and repair the mechanical systems that keep production moving, from hydraulics and pneumatics to conveyors and drives, and help minimize plant-wide downtime.

What you'll do:

  • Diagnose and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical drive systems
  • Perform precision alignment, bearing replacement, and shaft/coupling repair
  • Troubleshoot and replace valves, pumps, and cylinders
  • Fabricate, weld, and machine parts for repairs and equipment mods
  • Install, set up, and relocate machinery and production lines
  • Keep preventive maintenance routines on track to maximize uptime

What we're looking for:

  • High school diploma or GED (technical certificate or associate degree preferred)
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in industrial or automotive manufacturing
  • Skilled in machine repair and industrial mechanical systems
  • MIG/TIG/stick welding and torch cutting for maintenance repairs
  • Solid grasp of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, chains, and belts
  • Willing to learn electrical maintenance
  • High Pressure Die Casting experience preferred

The details:

  • Competitive pay: $40.00/hour
  • Shift flexibility required: day, afternoon, and night shifts (M–F, 8 hrs) plus alternating weekend shifts (12 hrs, Fri–Sun)
  • Comfortable working at heights with fall protection; able to lift 50 lbs
  • LOTO and PPE standards (safety glasses, gloves, steel-toe footwear, hearing protection)
  • Relocation package available
