Job description

Overview
The Aircraft Quality Inspector performs the inspection and test of materials, parts and products to ensure adherence to established quality standards.
Responsibilities
  • Performs aircraft, aircraft component and shop inspections to assure compliance with technical instructions and related directives
  • Interprets technical data and evaluates maintenance actions to ensure safe and reliable aircraft, components, and equipment is provided in accordance with current technical publications and directives.
  • Reviews technical publications, directives, reports, and subsequent revisions and confers with quality assurance, maintenance, management, and engineering personnel to solve work-related problems
  • Inspects, tests and certifies mechanical and hydraulic, fuel, electrical and pneumatic aviation components
  • Inspects and reviews maintenance source documents, inspection records, and other related forms used in aircraft, vehicle, and equipment maintenance to ensure forms and records are current, and comply with established procedures, service guidance, regulatory and contract specifications
  • Implements and enforces quality policies and procedures that meet the requirements of ISO 9001/AS9110, Ground Operating Procedures, and Repair Station Quality Control Manual
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Education:
  • High School Diploma or equivalency certification

Experience:
  • Army programs: Six years total experience in aircraft maintenance; two years rotary or fixed wing aircraft inspector under the Army Maintenance Management System
  • APSD programs: Five years of aircraft maintenance or modification experience with at least 2 years performing commercial or military aircraft quality inspections.
  • FAA A&P license preferred

Any combination of education/experience may be substituted for job requirements at the recommendation of the hiring manager and approval of the COO or higher.
