An Aircraft Leasing job involves managing the leasing of aircraft between lessors (companies that own aircraft) and lessees (airlines or operators). Professionals in this field handle contract negotiations, aircraft acquisitions, financing, and asset management. They work closely with airlines, financial institutions, and legal teams to structure leasing agreements that maximize profitability and efficiency. Roles in this sector include marketing, technical oversight, and financial analysis. It is a dynamic career that requires knowledge of aviation, finance, and legal regulations.
A typical day in Aircraft Leasing involves negotiating lease agreements with airlines or operators, analyzing market trends, and managing client accounts. Professionals often communicate with airlines, lenders, legal teams, and technical experts to ensure smooth transactions from proposal to delivery. The role requires balancing multiple deals at once while coordinating asset inspections, reviewing contracts, and troubleshooting potential issues. Daily responsibilities are both analytical and relationship-driven, making it ideal for those who enjoy a blend of financial analysis and client interaction.
To excel in Aircraft Leasing, you need strong financial analysis skills, knowledge of aviation industry regulations, contract negotiation expertise, and typically a degree in finance, business, or a related field. Familiarity with lease management systems, aviation market databases, and understanding of technical records or asset valuation tools is valuable. Outstanding relationship-building, communication, and problem-solving abilities are crucial for managing clients and complex deals. These competencies enable successful deal closures, risk mitigation, and long-term partnership development in a competitive, detail-intensive market.
