Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

To assist the customer with aircraft interior selection and definition. Prepares various items (spec/material swatch boxes/customer samples/etc.), to allow customer to make a final decision.ย  Provide interior design guidance to other designers as required. Operates under general guidance utilizing procedures to assist Sales and Marketing with the sales of Textron aircraft.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Assists the customer in selection of their aircraft interior equipment, furnishings, and material selections. This applies to new production jet, piston, and turboprop customers as well as existing refurbishment customers and new program development.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Coordinates and/or prepares the formal interior specification document, equipment sketches, material swatch boxes, interior renderings, etc., which are generated from the customer visit.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Follows through with suppliers on specialty or custom materials which are generated from the spec session.ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  With custom items, coordinates with the supplier to generate sufficient samples to allow the customer to make a final decision.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Coordinates and/or creates new or updated interior designs.ย  This activity begins with the formation stages of a project and extends through production incorporation.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Provides interior selection ideas for possible use on demonstration, special missions, and general unsold aircraft.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Assists with selections on new or update projects for the Textron Aviation mockups.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Monitors, tracks, and reports progress of interior design projects to Interior Design staff.

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Supports facilities projects as requested.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Bachelor's Degree required in:

oย ย ย  Interior Design

oย ย ย  Interior Architecture

oย ย ย  Textiles

oย ย ย  Or related field

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Relative experience preferred

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Minimum of 2 years of Interior Design experience required.

QUALIFICATIONS:ย ย 

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Design Internship or equivalent job experience preferred

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Design portfolio required

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Customer facing experience

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Professional and diplomatic demeanor

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Strong sense of accountability and integrity

ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
