Position Summary
Davcor Aviation Services is seeking experienced Aircraft Fuel Systems Technicians to support aircraft fuel systems maintenance and repair operations in the Chicago, IL area.
This position is intended for experienced aviation maintenance professionals with hands-on aircraft fuel systems experience. Successful candidates will have experience performing fuel tank maintenance, inspections, repairs, and component removal and installation while working in accordance with applicable maintenance procedures, safety requirements, and customer quality standards.
The ideal candidate is safety-minded, dependable, and comfortable performing physically demanding work in confined aircraft fuel tank environments.
Pay Range
$25.00-$32.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform aircraft fuel tank maintenance, inspection, and repair activities.
  • Enter and work within aircraft fuel tanks and other confined spaces.
  • Perform fuel tank leak detection and troubleshooting.
  • Remove and install aircraft fuel system components and hardware.
  • Remove and apply sealants in accordance with applicable maintenance procedures.
  • Perform structural and component inspections within aircraft fuel tanks.
  • Read and follow aircraft maintenance manuals, technical documentation, and work instructions.
  • Properly document completed maintenance activities.
  • Maintain compliance with FAA regulations, customer requirements, and Davcor Aviation Services safety procedures.
  • Follow established confined space entry and respiratory protection requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Properly handle tools, equipment, chemicals, and hazardous materials.
  • Perform additional aircraft fuel systems maintenance duties as assigned.
Confined Space and Physical Requirements
This position requires employees to enter and perform maintenance within aircraft fuel tanks and other confined spaces.
Candidates must be able to:
  • Work in tight and restricted spaces for extended periods of time.
  • Crawl, kneel, crouch, bend, climb, and work in physically demanding positions.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment and respiratory protection.
  • Work around aircraft fuel, sealants, chemicals, and aviation maintenance materials.
  • Safely use hand tools, pneumatic tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Lift, carry, and move tools and equipment as required.
  • Follow all confined space entry, ventilation, and safety procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Previous hands-on aircraft fuel systems or aircraft fuel tank maintenance experience required.
  • Experience performing fuel tank inspection, repair, sealing, or component maintenance.
  • Ability to read and follow aircraft maintenance manuals and technical documentation.
  • Strong understanding of aviation maintenance safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work in confined spaces.
  • Must be dependable and maintain consistent attendance.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Commercial or military aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Previous aircraft fuel tank maintenance and repair experience.
  • Experience with fuel leak troubleshooting and repair.
  • Experience removing and applying aircraft fuel tank sealants.
  • Familiarity with FAA-regulated maintenance environments.
Work Environment
This position is performed in an aviation maintenance environment and may involve exposure to aircraft fuel, chemicals, sealants, noise, and varying temperatures.
