What is an aircraft cleaner?

Aircraft Cleaners are professionals responsible for cleaning the interior and sometimes the exterior of airplanes. Their duties typically include removing trash, vacuuming, wiping surfaces, disinfecting restrooms, and replenishing supplies such as toilet paper and soap. They help maintain airplane hygiene and safety standards, ensuring a pleasant environment for passengers and crew. Aircraft Cleaners often work odd hours, including nights and weekends, to prepare planes between flights. This job requires attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to follow strict safety protocols.

What does an aircraft cleaner do?

These skills and qualities are essential to maintaining high safety standards, passenger comfort, and on-time flight operations.

What are common challenges faced by aircraft cleaners, and how are they typically addressed on the job?

Aircraft cleaners often work under tight turnaround times to prepare aircraft between flights, which can be challenging due to strict schedules and high cleanliness standards. Most teams address these by following detailed checklists, working collaboratively, and receiving thorough training on safety and time management. Open communication with supervisors and colleagues helps ensure tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
