Job description

Responsibilities and Background โ€ข Experience supporting DoD Programs, particularly in unmanned systems, robotics, or autonomous systems. โ€ข Experience with integration and test events in operational or field environments. Maintain and repair aircraft systems, document workflows, and recommend manufacturing process improvements. โ€ข Knowledge of software autonomy architectures, interoperability frameworks, or distributed systems. โ€ข Familiarity with configuration management processes, engineering change proposals, and technical reviews. โ€ข Interface between Project Management, design, and production team. Create timelines, estimate costs, and coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to keep projects on track. โ€ข Prepare technical reports, user manuals, and design specification for all stakeholders. โ€ข Interpret technical data, run feasibility studies, and apply new knowledge to improve existing system and processes. โ€ข Maintain paces with the rapidly evolving UAS commercial sector and identify new commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom components for test consideration. โ€ข Align, fit, and assemble component parts, using precision tools, calibrated hand tools, and power tools. Install electromechanical and electronic parts, using precision tools, calibrated hand tools, and power tools. Requirements โ€ข United States citizenship. โ€ข Active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI. โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in an Engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Systems) or equivalent practical experience. โ€ข Strong mathematical and scientific foundations with hands-on experience using industry-specific design, simulation, or modeling software. โ€ข Minimum 2 years of experience in unmanned aerial systems or autonomous platforms. โ€ข Familiarity with flight controls, communications, power systems, avionics, or payload integration. โ€ข Possess strong problem-solving skills. Demonstrate analytical abilities to diagnose issues in complex systems and devise effective corrective actions. โ€ข Develop system and subsystem-level requirements and define system and subsystem interface. โ€ข Ability to work within tight timelines with high-quality output. โ€ข Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present findings to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with team members. โ€ข Extreme attention to detail; takes pride in and ownership of work and can manage projects from concept through launch. Desired Qualifications โ€ข Experience with commonly used open source and commercial software suites for hobbyist UAS, simulation, and engineering (Mission Planner, MATLAB, SolidWorks, Ansys, etc.) โ€ข Hands on aircraft or robotics experience such as FPV or RC aircraft, private pilot, experimental aircraft building, or flight test support.
