Job description

The avionics technician installs, maintains, troubleshoots, inspects, and repairs the electronic systems on aircraft. These systems include navigation, communication, radar, and flight control systems. He or she ensures that these systems function properly and safely, following strict regulations and guidelines.ย 

Key Responsibilities:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Installation: Mounting and connecting avionics equipment, wiring, and components according to schematics and technical diagrams.ย 

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Maintenance and Repair: Inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing faulty avionics systems.ย 

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Troubleshooting: Diagnosing malfunctions using diagnostic equipment, schematics, and technical manuals.ย 

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Calibration and Alignment: Ensuring proper alignment and calibration of avionics systems.ย

Education and Experience:

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Certifications: FAA Repairman Certification required.ย An FAA A&P Certification is preferred.

ยทย ย ย ย ย ย ย  Formal Education: An associate's or bachelor's degree in avionics or aviation technology is preferred but not required.ย
