Their duties typically include maintaining flight records, scheduling aircraft movements, communicating with flight crews, and ensuring compliance with aviation regulations. They play a vital role in facilitating smooth and safe air operations by handling administrative tasks and assisting operational staff. Strong organizational, communication, and attention-to-detail skills are essential in this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an air operations assistant?

To thrive as an Air Operations Assistant, you need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of aviation procedures, often supported by a relevant diploma or prior experience in aviation operations. Familiarity with flight planning software, air traffic control systems, and standard office applications is typically required. Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities help manage coordination between pilots, ground crews, and operational staff. These skills ensure the safe, timely, and efficient handling of air operations in a dynamic and regulated environment.
