Job description

Position Title: Park Operations Assistant (Seasonal)

Department: Park Operations

Reports To: Park Operations Manager

Range: $16.25 per hour (non-exempt)

Our 36-acre park is home to North America’s longest-running outdoor music festival and its most artistically diverse. Over 100 different events, featuring a mix of classical, rock, pop, jazz, R&B, indie, and country performers, make up a typical summer season across our open-air and indoor stages, including the annual residency of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.


Position Summary:


Our park is our pride, and keeping it clean and beautiful is essential to our success. The Park Operations team are the hard-working heroes who keep our park looking and operating at its best.

We’re seeking an energetic, reliable Park Operations Assistant to help with the daily operation of the Park Operations Department. This position is responsible mainly for setting up/breaking down banquet furniture and stocking programs for the night’s concert. However, every day at Ravinia is different, so we need someone flexible and willing to pitch in when needed. Typical hours are 7:00AM-3:30PM, including weekends.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting up and breaking down banquet furniture

  • Stocking concert programs

  • Assisting departments in moving materials

  • General park upkeep

  • Manage installation of outdoor signage; static, video, seasonal

  • Assisting with other projects as needed


Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Ability and willingness to work within a team

  • Able to work independently

  • Readiness to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner

  • Flexibility required (shifting schedule + weekends)

  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds

  • All Ravinia employees must be at least 16 years of age

Work Environment
  • The Ravinia season runs from early June through mid-September. Applicants who are available to work the entire season will receive priority in hiring.

  • This position is outdoors and in all weather conditions, with prolonged periods of standing, walking, pushing/pulling, and lifting/carrying.

  • The Park Ops Assistant works Typical hours are 7:00 AM—3:30 PM, 40 hours a week, including weekends.

  • This position is on-site at Ravinia Highland Park, IL, must be able to reliably commute to Ravinia daily.
