Barbaricum is seeking a Mission Analyst to support execution of policies, plans, and strategies for Headquarters Air Force Mission Assurance (MA) Program. The USAF MA program identifies, assesses, prioritizes, and oversees risk management actions for Department of War (DoW) and USAF critical assets in accordance with Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 3020.40 and Department of Defense Instruction (DODI) 3020.45.

The Mission Analyst will be primarily responsible for conducting the asset identification and assessment portions of the MA construct. This includes identifying and assessing assets, recommending nomination or denomination of assets based on mission criticality, updating asset information in MA systems of record, and preparing for MA Assessments. The Mission Analyst will prepare briefings, write or contribute to technical analysis white papers, and conduct routine analysis of Air Force assets to support Headquarters Air Force MA activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Support MA assessments through the development of the Integrated Assessment Schedule, Assessment Focus Statements, and briefings, as required.
  • Coordinate with other MA offices at Major Commands (MAJCOM) and Numbered Air Force (NAF).
  • Maintain Air Force MA system of record and ensure that relevant TCA information is available to COCOMs, MAJCOMs, NAFs, and Wings through the Mission Assurance systems of record.
  • Understand and execute DoW and Joint Staff Mission Assurance policy.
  • Support the identification, prioritization, assessment, and validation of Task Critical Assets (TCAs) that support mission essential tasks (METs) for Operation Plans (OPLANs) and Concept of Operation Plans (CONPLANs).
  • Support the annual USAF asset validation process and perform mission decomposition of Air Force assets.
  • Participate in DoW and Joint Staff MA Working Groups, conferences, meetings, and other events related to MA, as required.
  • Develop graphical, oral, reports, briefs, information papers and products in support of the MA program.

Qualifications:

  • Active DoD TS Clearance required
  • Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree Preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with DoW, specifically dealing with critical infrastructure, readiness, or operations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with people at all levels. Proven ability to coordinate with inter-agency and inter-service partners.
  • Ability to travel CONUS or OCONUS approximately 25% of the time.
  • Valid US passport.
  • Understanding of risk management principles and methodologies.
  • Experience conducting analysis and presenting findings in written and oral briefing formats.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and take initiative to help ensure team tasks are successfully completed within required timelines.
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working on large G, J, or A staffs. Candidates with experience working at MAJCOMs or NAFs in requirements or plans and programs are highly desired.
  • Relevant experience in a Mission Assurance related discipline including Force Protection, Civil Engineering, Emergency Management, Intelligence, Communications, Airfield Operations, or Cybersecurity.
  • Experience with Mission Assurance databases and Mission Assurance Risk Management System (MARMS) applications.
  • Familiarity with Maven, Envision, or Palantir Foundry Platforms.
