Job description

ENVENTION has an immediate need for an Air & Missile Defense Subject Matter Expert

with targeted Warfighter experience to join our team to support the air defense planning capability of the cutting-edge Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS). This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a transformative air defense system that integrates advanced technologies to protect against modern threats. Youโ€™ll work on complex systems-level challenges, collaborate across disciplines, and help develop solutions that shape the future of Army Air Defense.

This isnโ€™t a role for a passive advisor. It's an opportunity to embed the voice of the warfighter directly into the heart of the Army's next generation air defense system.

Your Role and Responsibilities:
  • Appy subject-matter expertise gained from experience as a warfighter to inform the development of IBCS.
  • Lead Systems Engineering and Software Development activities to bridge the understanding between engineer intent and warfighter usability.
  • Assist in the prioritization of IBCS capabilities and features within the structure of SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework).
  • Collaborate: Partner with system engineers, software developers, test engineers, and other domain experts to translate operational needs into functionality.
  • Support integration: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure system components interface correctly and fulfill mission objectives.
What You Bring:
  • Proven Experience: Former U.S. Army Air Defense Artillery military officer, warrant officer, or non-commissioned officer with extensive experience in Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Planning at the tactical and operational levels of war. Additional experience planning at the strategic level will add value to the role and function for this position.
  • Operational Experience: Proven experience with IBCS, Patriot, THAAD, or SHORAD / M-SHORAD.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to convey complex ideas clearly in writing, diagrams, and discussions with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Systems Thinking: Ability to analyze complex systems, decompose requirements, and evaluate interfaces and interactions.
Why This Role is Unique:
  • Impact: Contribute to a program redefining how the U.S. Army conducts integrated air and missile defense.
  • Challenge: Tackle system-level problems that require innovative and practical solutions.
  • Growth: Transition your hands-on tactical expertise into strategic system architecture, shaping the future roadmap of global missile defense while establishing yourself as an authority on IBCS modernization.
  • Teamwork: Work with talented engineers committed to solving problems that matter.
