In this on-site field role, you will read plans and specifications, execute material takeoffs, coordinate directly with purchasing, and be on-site every day directing crews, mechanical trades, and subcontractors to ensure quality, safety, and productivity. Description for Construction Field Foreman:
  • Lead and direct daily on-site construction and mechanical installations directly in the field from ground-breaking through final punch list.
  • Accurately read and interpret architectural plans, mechanical/HVAC drawings, structural blueprints, and engineering specifications on the jobsite.
  • Perform detailed material takeoffs directly from plans and coordinate with purchasing teams to ensure equipment and supplies arrive on time.
  • Directly manage, lay out, mentor, and work alongside field crews and mechanical/HVAC subcontractors to maintain high daily output and exceptional craftsmanship.
  • Troubleshoot on-site construction challenges, mechanical routing conflicts, layout discrepancies, and field obstacles in real time to keep projects moving forward.
  • Enforce strict jobsite safety standards, PPE compliance, and OSHA guidelines across all field operations.
  • Manage project field expenses responsibly using company-provided tools, purchasing accounts, and mobile communication.

  • Pay Rate: $32.00 - $47.00 / hour (Scaling strictly based on depth of field leadership, HVAC project experience, and trade capabilities / DOE).

Requirements for Construction Field Foreman:
  • MANDATORY: Verifiable hands-on HVAC project experience (commercial mechanical installations, ductwork layout, RTUs, piping, or HVAC system retrofits).
  • 5-10 years of verified hands-on field leadership experience (Commercial Construction Foreman, Mechanical Foreman, Working Superintendent, or Lead Field Tradesman).
  • NOT A DESK JOB: Must want to be on-site every day leading crews, inspecting installations, and managing field execution directly.
  • Demonstrated mastery in blueprint literacy, mechanical plan reading, specification comprehension, and material takeoffs.
  • Proven ability to lay out work, direct crews, solve field problems independently, and enforce project timelines.
  • Strong communication skills for daily coordination with purchasing, vendors, field crew, and management.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record strictly required for jobsite travel.
