JOB GOAL:
Under general direction, performs skilled work in the repair and maintenance of all District heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment as well as the controls for these systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Valid Arizona driver's license.
  3. Satisfactory criminal background check.
  4. Experience with computers, such as email and work order systems.
  5. Position requires the following physical demands: be able to lift up to 50 lbs, be able to exert 50-60 lbs of force frequently, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  6. Ability to walk, reach, climb or balance, stoop or kneel.
  7. Knowledge of hand and power tools.
  8. Experience working in HVAC preferred.
  9. Must have an HVAC universal certificate, and show completion of an EPA approved course in "Proper Refrigerant Usage".
  10. Working knowledge of all styles of air distribution as well as package and split systems DX air conditioning units.
  11. Working knowledge of all types of HVAC controls systems.
  12. Knowledge of centrifugal compressor chillers is preferred.
  13. Read and understand blue prints and closeout books.
  14. Knowledge of building codes.
  15. Ability to work overtime and change schedules with minimal notice.
  16. Must obtain an Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 260 Days; 12 Months
COMPENSATION: Per QCUSD salary schedule for applicable position
BENEFITS: As per QCUSD District policy
REPORTS TO: Director of Building Operations
HOURS: 40 hours per week Monday - Friday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, Non-exempt
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
  1. Install, repair and service all types of air conditioning units, related devices and systems.
  2. Repair and service all types of mechanical controls systems.
  3. Repair and service all the non-technical portions of the school site central plants.
  4. Process work orders in a timely manner.
  5. Will be responsible for detailing and preparing paperwork for parts orders.
  6. Must continue to seek professional development in regard to new technology and additional technical skills.
  7. Being flexible and performing other duties assigned by the supervisor.
