Christiana Medical Intensive Care Unit is recruiting for the position of Assistant Nurse Manager. Shift Requirement is rotating Day/Midnight shifts. Nights, Weekend, Holiday and On Call coverage per the guidelines of the department. This position seeks a motivated RN who will assist with administrative direction for clinical practice and efficient care delivery. The position will share 24 hour accountability and responsibility for all aspects of daily operations inthe unit with the Nurse Manager.

This role will support the Nurse Manager through:

  • Assessing staff competency/performance review
  • Participating in human resource management
  • Supervising RN, SNE, PCT, PCTII, Unit Clerk, and Administrative Assistant staff
  • Scheduling and daily staffing
  • Assisting with preparation of annual budget and maintaining fiscal accountability
  • Developing and maintaining patient, employee, and physician satisfaction initiatives
  • Maintaining compliance with regulatory agency standards
  • Developing and implementing performance improvement initiatives
  • Supporting shared decision making and serving as a leadership liaison on unit-based councils
  • Supporting interdepartmental relationships
  • Facilitating the achievement of MICU AOP goals and CCHS strategic aims

Requirements:

  • RN licensure in the State of Delaware or compact state
  • BSN - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. If no BSN, a Master's degree in nursing is required.
  • Master's Degree in a nursing, healthcare or business management field required or currently enrolled to be obtained within 5 years of promotion into position.
  • Professional certification in a related nursing specialty required. (CCRN preferred.) If selected, candidate will within six months of start date, successful complete the professional certification.
  • BLS Certification required.
  • 3-5 years appropriate clinical and leadership experience in area or specialty.
Hourly Pay Range: $52.97 - $84.75This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
