ABOUT THE POSITION:

Anchin is seeking a Director to join our Private Client Group, supporting high-net-worth individuals, families, and closely held entities with complex tax needs. This role is designed for a seasoned tax professional who thrives in a client-facing, leadership-oriented environment and is comfortable overseeing sophisticated engagements while developing teams and deepening client relationships.

The Director will serve as a key advisor to clients and an internal leader within PCG, balancing technical excellence, people management, and strategic execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as a primary advisor to high-net-worth clients, delivering thoughtful tax planning and compliance solutions across individual, trust, estate, and pass-through entity matters.
  • Oversee complex tax engagements from planning through execution, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to firm standards.
  • Review advanced individual, fiduciary, and partnership tax returns and related deliverables.
  • Partner with clients' external advisors (attorneys, wealth managers, family office professionals) to address multi-dimensional tax and wealth considerations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop Managers and Senior Managers, providing coaching, technical guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Support Partners in strengthening long-term client relationships and identifying opportunities to expand services.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and translate developments into practical guidance for clients and internal teams.
  • Contribute to practice initiatives, including training, process improvement, and knowledge sharing within the Private Client Group.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA, EA or Law License required. 

Experience:

  • 12+ years of progressive public accounting experience with a strong focus on high-net-worth taxation.
  • Demonstrated experience with individual, trust, estate, and partnership tax matters.
  • Prior experience supervising teams and reviewing complex tax work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility with clients and colleagues.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously.

Compensation:

  • Competitive annual salary in the range of $200,000 to $350,000, based on individual's experience level.
