Join us as a War Hazard Claims Examiner to grow your career at the forefront of Federal Workers Compensation insurance.

How you will create an impact

  • Review, investigate, and manage War Hazards Compensation Act (WHCA) claims in compliance with federal regulations, contractual obligations, and company policies.
  • Evaluate claim documentation, including medical records, employment records, incident reports, and insurance policies, to determine eligibility for recovery under the War Hazards Compensation Act and pursue reimbursement opportunities when appropriate.
  • Partner with employers, legal counsel, government agencies, vendors, and medical providers to obtain necessary documentation, address claim discrepancies, and support timely claim resolution.
  • Verify the accuracy of benefit calculations, reimbursement amounts, and recoverable expenses to ensure appropriate claim outcomes.
  • Maintain detailed and organized claim files, documenting investigations, decisions, supporting evidence, and claim activity throughout the lifecycle of the claim.
  • Ensure all claim information meets AIG standards for data quality, accuracy, and integrity.
  • Identify claim trends, emerging patterns, and opportunities for process improvement to enhance operational efficiency and drive positive business results.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Strong claims investigation, research, and analytical skills.
  • Experience with recovery and reimbursement processes is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of workers' compensation claims, including applicable legal, regulatory, litigation, and procedural requirements.
  • Familiarity with the Defense Base Act (DBA) is preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Proven case management, time management and organizational skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement practical solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Innovative and forward-thinking mindset, with a passion for identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Proficiency in claims management platforms and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to support business objectives through timely completion of weekly, monthly, ad hoc reporting, and special project assignments.
  • Self-motivated team player who can work independently while contributing to a collaborative and results-driven environment.
