What is an AI video creator?

An AI Video Creator is a professional who leverages artificial intelligence tools and software to automate or enhance the video production process. This role typically involves using AI technologies to generate video content, edit footage, add effects, and even create scripts or voiceovers. AI Video Creators can produce videos more efficiently and at a larger scale compared to traditional methods. They often work in marketing, entertainment, education, or social media, helping organizations create engaging visual content. The use of AI enables them to streamline workflows, personalize content, and innovate in storytelling.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an AI video creator, and why are they important?

To thrive as an AI Video Creator, you need a solid understanding of video production, AI-driven editing tools, and storytelling, often supported by experience in media or digital content creation. Content Creator - Video

O'Neil Software, Inc.

Irvine, CA

$36.06 - $45.67/hr

Full-time, Temporary

Posted 17 days ago

Job description

About Annex

Annex (annex.com), a division of O’Neil Software, Inc., an online marketplace for secure document shredding and records storage. We connect businesses and consumers with verified local providers, making it simple to schedule shredding purges, protect sensitive information, and stay compliant. We're a fast-moving team building a new category — and video is about to become the centerpiece of how we tell that story. The successful candidate will be employed by O’Neil Software, Inc. and assigned to support Annex.

The Role

We're hiring a one-person video team: someone who shoots, edits, and delivers finished short-form content end to end. You'll travel with our CEO to customer locations, provider facilities, and industry events across the U.S. and internationally to capture footage — shredding trucks, warehouse operations, purge jobs, customer stories — and turn it into scroll-stopping vertical video for TikTok, Instagram Reels, Facebook, and YouTube Shorts. Your work will also feed our email campaigns, website, and blog.

This is a hands-on creator role, not a production-crew role. You'll own the full pipeline: pre-production planning, on-location shooting, editing, captions, sound, motion graphics, and publishing-ready delivery — using an AI-accelerated workflow that lets one person do the work of three.

How This Engagement Works

This is a temporary, direct-hire position working onsite with Annex — no staffing agency involved:

  • Initial term: Temporary position for 90-days, working directly with our marketing team and CEO. After 90-days of continuous employment, the Company may evaluate the position and your performance to determine whether there is an opportunity to convert the position to regular employment.
  • Hours: A guaranteed floor of 20 hours per week, flexing up to full-time (40 hours) depending on shoot schedule, travel, and content pipeline.
  • Evaluation Period: At or before the end of the 90 days, this temporary position may be considered for regular employment based on business needs, organizational requirements, and satisfactory job performance. Conversion to regular employment is not guaranteed.
  • Compensation during contract: Competitive hourly rate range from $36.06 - $45.67, commensurate with experience and portfolio. Travel expenses are fully covered.
What You'll Do

• Shoot on location with a lightweight kit (mirrorless + mobile), traveling with the CEO to customer sites, provider facilities, and industry events — up to 30% travel, including U.S. and international trips with occasional multi-night stays.

  • Produce 3–5 finished short-form videos per week for TikTok, Reels, Facebook, and Shorts, shot and edited natively in vertical 9:16.
  • Own all post-production: editing, color, audio cleanup, captions, motion graphics, and platform-specific versioning.
  • Repurpose footage across channels — cutting long captures into multiple shorts, and adapting video for email campaigns, the website, and blog posts.
  • Develop recurring content formats and series (founder POV, behind-the-scenes at purge jobs, satisfying shred content, customer stories, plain-language explainers).
  • Coach on-camera talent — help our CEO and team look and sound natural, and keep shoot days efficient.
  • Track performance by platform and iterate on hooks, formats, and lengths based on what the data says.
  • Manage gear, media library, and a fast, repeatable production workflow.
Your AI-Accelerated Workflow

"AI-savvy" isn't a buzzword here — it's the operating model. You should be fluent (or eager to become fluent) in tools such as:

  • Editing: Premiere Pro, CapCut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve as your base NLE, plus Descript for transcript-based editing.
  • Repurposing: Opus Clip or similar for slicing long footage into ranked short-form cuts.
  • Audio: AI speech enhancement (Adobe Enhance Speech), voiceover generation (ElevenLabs) where appropriate.
  • Visuals: Generative b-roll, images, and motion elements (Runway, Midjourney, or similar) used with judgment.
  • Captions & versioning: Auto-captioning, reframing, and localization tools to multiply output without multiplying hours.

In your interview, we'll ask you to walk us through your pipeline and show us where AI cuts your turnaround time. Tools change fast — what matters is that you experiment constantly and adopt what works.

What You Bring

• 2–5 years producing short-form video end to end (shoot + edit + deliver), with a portfolio of vertical social content that performed — links required with your application.

  • Strong run-and-gun shooting skills: natural light, lav/shotgun audio, stabilization, and framing for 9:16.
  • Fast, clean editing instincts — you understand hooks, pacing, captions, and sound design for social.
  • Fluency with at least one professional NLE plus an AI-assisted toolchain (see above).
  • Comfort working independently on location, directing non-professional talent, and hitting weekly publishing deadlines.
  • A storyteller's eye for making everyday operations visually compelling — you can see the video in a warehouse, a truck, or a pile of boxes.
  • Availability for up to 30% travel, domestic and international — valid driver's license and passport (or ability to obtain one before start) required.
Nice to Have

• Experience with founder-led or B2B brand content.

  • Motion graphics chops (After Effects or equivalent).
  • Drone certification (FAA Part 107).
  • Photography skills for stills capture on shoots.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot, social scheduling tools, and platform analytics.
Compensation
  • Competitive hourly rate from $36.06 - $45.67 based on experience, with a guaranteed 20-hour weekly floor; travel expenses fully covered.
  • Gear budget for a professional shooting and editing kit on conversion (or a stipend if you bring your own).
  • Software and AI-tool subscriptions will be covered from day one.
How We'll Hire

1. Application with portfolio links (vertical/social work front and center). 2. Screening call with the VP Marketing. 3. Workflow walkthrough — show us how you work, including your AI pipeline. 4. Paid test project: a short brief, shot and edited on your gear, compensated at your day rate. 5. Contract offer and kickoff with the CEO.

Send your portfolio links and a short note on the best-performing video you've made — and why it worked.
