Candidates need the below experience:

• Experience integrating GCP AI Services into Web Applications. Primarily using GCP ADK, Vertex, Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform, Big Query, etc)
• Clear, hands-on professional experience in relevant implementations of GenAI / Agent-based AI solutions at enterprise scale.
• A strong understanding of AI agents, with hands-on experience using at least one agent framework (e.g., Lang Graph, ADK, etc.).
• Strong GCP AI experience (certification HIGHLY preferred)

Role Overview

The AI Tech Lead is a hands-on technical leader responsible for translating AI architecture into detailed design and successful delivery. This role will lead implementation of AI-driven experiences for the website, including conversational AI and intelligent widgets, using Drupal and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Unlike the AI Architect, who owns the high-level solution vision, the AI Tech Lead owns execution, driving technical design, delivery quality, deployment readiness, and cross-functional alignment with product and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Own hands-on delivery of AI solutions by translating architectural direction into detailed technical design, implementation plans, and production-ready components.
• Design and implement AI-driven experiences for the marketing website, including conversational interfaces, chatbots, intelligent widgets, and personalized user journeys.
• Lead integration of AI capabilities into CMS-driven applications, with particular focus on Drupal-based web experiences and external web components.
• Build and deploy cloud-based AI services on GCP; evaluate and implement equivalent patterns for candidates transitioning from AWS where appropriate.
• Partner closely with architects, product owners, product managers, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements, align technical decisions, and ensure business goals are met.
• Drive end-to-end execution, including technical breakdowns, effort estimation, sprint planning, risk management, issue resolution, testing, release readiness, and production support.
• Establish engineering best practices for scalability, performance, security, observability, and responsible AI in customer-facing digital experiences.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership through design reviews, code reviews, and implementation guidance to improve quality and team velocity.
• Define and monitor success metrics such as engagement, conversion, reliability, and user experience quality; use experimentation and analytics to continuously improve outcomes.
• Support an accelerated delivery timeline by maintaining strong ownership, clear communication, and effective coordination across technical and business teams.

Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience leading the implementation of AI solutions in web, digital, or marketing technology environments.
• Strong experience embedding AI capabilities into CMS-driven applications, ideally within Drupal or comparable enterprise content platforms.
• Hands-on expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) for AI solution development is strongly preferred; AWS experience is acceptable if the candidate can transition quickly to GCP.
• Experience designing and delivering conversational AI, chatbots, intelligent widgets, personalization, or other AI-driven user experiences.
• Strong software engineering and integration skills, including APIs, cloud services, system design, and deployment practices for scalable production systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with product owners, product managers, engineers, and business leaders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead delivery in fast-paced environments, manage ambiguity, and drive results under compressed timelines.
• Experience in contract-to-hire or consulting-style delivery environments is a plus; ability to work remotely as a contractor and transition to onsite expectations as needed is preferred.
