Job description

About Us
Legora is redefining how legal work gets done. Not built for lawyers, built with them. We work alongside the world's best legal teams, who expect excellence, precision, and speed, and we hold ourselves to the same bar.
Our AI-native workspace lets legal professionals move faster, think more clearly, and operate with sharper precision. By analysing thousands of documents in minutes and powering end-to-end workflows, we cut through complexity, teams can focus on what matters: judgment, strategy, and outcomes.
1,000+ customers across 50+ countries trust us, including Cleary Gottlieb, Goodwin, Linklaters, White & Case, Dentons, and Barclays. We've scaled to $100M+ in ARR, with teams across Europe, North America and APAC, and continue to expand through acquisitions including Qura, Walter AI and Graceview.
We partner with world-class performers: including Aaron Judge and the New York Yankees, Ludvig Ã…berg (and his caddie), and campaigns featuring Jude Law.
Joining Legora means three things.
  • We lean in: ownership over titles, outcomes over intentions.
  • We fight for excellence: high standards, direct, ego-free feedback.
  • We grow together: as a team and with our customers.

Mission before ego. Everyone contributes. No one coasts.
If you're driven by impact, pace, and raising the bar. This is the place.
The Role
As a Legal AI Analyst, you will help build the benchmark dataset we use to evaluate how well our AI understands US law. Legal reasoning demands precision: the right source, correctly cited, applied to the right question - a tool that gets this wrong isn't just unhelpful, it's harmful. By pairing real legal prompts with human-verified sources (case law, statutes, regulations), we create a reliable measure of whether our AI retrieves what a competent lawyer would. Get this right, and it shapes the future of legal research.
Why You, Why Law Students?
We need breadth - not necessarily super-deep, domain-specific expertise. We need academic excellence and precision. Top law students at towards the end of their studies - such as yourself - are the best at providing just this. On a side-note, you are also the future of legal practice, and we would love to build the future of legal research together with and for you.
What You'll Do
  • Construct realistic research cases: well-formed legal questions paired with the sources a top attorney would retrieve to answer it
  • Cover federal and state, statutory, and case law to keep the dataset representative
  • Lean into the practice areas you know best - corporate, litigation, tax, constitutional, etc

Who You Are
  • A current 2L or 3L at a top-tier US law school with strong academic standing
  • You understand what "good research" actually looks like in practice - not just finding a source, but finding the right ones
  • Detail-oriented and driven - you take personal pride in the quality of your output and bring that same standard to everything you put your name on

What's in It for You
  • "Legal AI Analyst, Legora" on your resume - one of the world's fastest-growing legal AI companies
  • $800 total (~20 hours of work), paid on completion
  • Hands-on exposure to how frontier AI products are built and evaluated - rare insight for any legal student interested in the future of practice
  • Flexible, remote work that fits around your law school schedule

This is a freelance engagement, not full-time or part-time position. As a contractor, you are responsible for providing your own equipment and workspace. You maintain full autonomy over how and when the work is performed, provided agreed-upon milestones and deadlines are met. Compensation for this engagement is set at $40 per hour of work.
You are responsible for all self-employment taxes, insurances, and professional expenses. This role is not eligible for company benefits, including health insurance, PTO, or retirement plans.
Legora is an Equal Opportunity Employer
At Legora, we believe great teams are built on diversity of thought and experience. We're proud to be an equal opportunity employer and committed to creating an inclusive, high-performance culture where everyone can do their best work. We welcome people of all backgrounds and don't discriminate based on race, color, religion, national origin, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
