Job description

Job Description
The Data, Analytics & AI Enablement Director is the enterprise leader for data, analytics, and AI governance at NV Energy. Establishes and sustains robust governance frameworks, policies, and practices that ensure the integrity, security, compliance, and ethical use of data and AI across all business functions. Drives the strategy, architecture, and operating model for data platforms and analytics products, enabling responsible innovation and measurable business outcomes in close collaboration with Berkshire Hathaway Energy.
Responsibilities
• Develops, implements, and continuously improves enterprise-wide governance frameworks for data, analytics, and AI, aligned with NV Energy's risk management and regulatory requirements.
• Establishes and monitors controls for data access, sharing, and protection, partnering with BHE IT, Cybersecurity and Legal.
• Leads stewardship programs for data quality, lineage, privacy, retention, and ethical AI use.
• Oversees compliance with all relevant laws, codes, and industry standards (e.g., NERC CIP, PUCN, GDPR, CCPA).
• Defines and executes a business-aligned strategy and roadmap for data, analytics, and AI enablement, with governance as a foundational pillar.
• Integrates governance requirements into all analytics and AI product development, deployment, and lifecycle management.
• Tracks and reports on governance KPIs, including compliance rates, audit outcomes, data quality scores, and risk mitigation effectiveness.
• Maintains the architecture for cloud analytics platforms, ensuring governance controls are embedded in data ingestion, transformation, and usage.
• Standardizes governance patterns for data integration with corporate, operational and customer systems.
• Leads change management initiatives to build a culture of data stewardship and responsible AI adoption.
• Oversees the development and delivery of training, job aids, and enablement programs focused on governance best practices.
• Fosters communities of practice for data and AI governance across NV Energy and BHE.
• Recruits, develops, and retains a high-performing team of governance, data, analytics, and AI professionals.
• Manages strategic partners and vendors, ensuring governance requirements are met in all contracts and service delivery.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
Bachelor's degree from an accredited school in engineering, business, information technology, or a related field and 10 years of experience in data, analytics, AI governance, or related fields.
Candidates without a bachelor's degree must have at least 14 years of experience in data, analytics, AI governance, or related fields.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of:
• Utility operations, mobile technology deployment, or large-scale digital transformation is preferred.
• Regulatory frameworks (e.g., NERC CIP, PUCN, GDPR, CCPA) and data privacy standards.
• Mobile application management tools and platforms.
• Experience with cloud analytics platforms and data integration tools.
Demonstrated skill such as:
• Proven ability to develop and execute product strategies, manage complex projects, and lead cross-functional teams.
• Strong negotiation, critical thinking, project management, communication, decision making, presentation, human relations, and organizational skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships and drive change across diverse stakeholder groups.
• Ability to leverage modern collaboration and governance technologies.
Equipment and Applications
• Proficiency with PCs, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
General office environment with occasional field visits and travel required. No special physical demands.
