Description & Requirements

Elder Research Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of MANTECH international Corporation seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented AI Risk & Evaluation Subject Matter Expertto join our team in Arlington, VA. This is a hybrid position with 1-2 days onsite per week.

We are seeking an experienced AI Risk Management & Evaluation Subject Matter Expert to support the development of frameworks, methodologies, and operational guidance that strengthen trustworthy AI adoption and governance. This role will help advance AI risk management practices, AI assurance approaches, standards alignment, and evaluation readiness across complex technical environments.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain AI risk management and TEVV frameworks aligned to industry best practices and emerging AI standards.
  • Support AI governance activities, including risk mapping, evaluation planning, and integration of evaluation insights into operational risk management processes.
  • Produce governance briefs, standards alignment analyses, technical guidance, and executive-level reporting materials.
  • Contribute to AI standards and technical governance initiatives, including review and development of materials for standards organizations and industry working groups.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional technical and leadership teams to support trustworthy AI implementation and adoption strategies.
  • Deliver status reporting, strategic recommendations, and continuous framework enhancements based on evolving AI risks and evaluation needs

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience supporting AI evaluation, assurance, measurement science, or TEVV-related activities.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience implementing AI risk management, AI governance, or AI assurance programs.
  • Strong understanding of AI lifecycle risk management, evaluation methodologies, and AI governance frameworks.
  • Experience developing technical frameworks, operational guidance, and executive briefings related to AI risk and evaluation.
  • Familiarity with AI standards development organizations and emerging trustworthy AI practices preferred.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of AI risk management frameworks, evaluation readiness methodologies, and standards alignment activities.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, manufacturing, or other high-priority AI application domains.
  • Ability to translate complex AI governance and technical concepts into actionable operational guidance.
