Job description

Block builds simple, powerful tools that make progress towards an economy that's truly open to all.

Each of our brands unlocks different aspects of the economy for more people. Square makes commerce and financial services accessible to sellers. Cash App is the easy way to spend, send, and store money. Afterpay is transforming the way customers manage their spending over time. TIDAL is a music platform that empowers artists to thrive as entrepreneurs. Bitkey is a simple self-custody wallet built for bitcoin. Proto is a suite of bitcoin mining products and services. Together, we're helping build a financial system that is open to everyone. Join us.

The Role

We are building the automation backbone of Block. The systems you help create will decide how work flows, how decisions are made, and how fast the company can move. This platform powers automation across customer support, risk and compliance, sales and marketing, and core internal operations. When it works, Block scales with confidence, speed, and precision.

As a Product Manager on the GTM Platform team, you will shape AI products that fundamentally change how work gets done. You will decide where automation should exist, where humans must stay in the loop, and how the two work together at scale. Your work will directly impact quality, cost, growth, efficiency and reliability across the company.

This is a hands-on, end-to-end role. You will be a builder, owning problems from first principles to production reality. You will work side by side with engineering, machine learning, data, design, and operations to turn messy, ambiguous workflows into intelligent systems that deliver real results.

This role sits within the Business Platform, which builds the systems and automations powering Block's core business functions - customer support, risk, guidance, and GTM. The focus is on GTM (sales, marketing, partnerships, account management, and communications infrastructure), with an expectation to bring deep domain expertise while partnering across other functions to drive consistency and cohesion across platforms.

You Will

  • Own the strategy and roadmap for AI-powered products that matter
  • Identify automation opportunities rooted in real user pain and measurable business outcomes
  • Turn ambiguous, high-stakes problems into clear product direction and requirements
  • Partner deeply with ML engineers, data scientists, and researchers on model goals, data strategy, evaluation, and quality thresholds
  • Design and run experiments to test ideas fast and learn even faster
  • Define product behavior across success paths, failures, and edge cases
  • Set and own metrics for accuracy, safety, latency, reliability, and user trust
  • Work with design to build human-AI interactions that are intuitive, transparent, and safe
  • Collaborate with legal, security, and compliance to ship responsible AI in regulated environments
  • Lead cross-functional execution from concept to launch and continuous improvement

You Have

  • 7 to 10 years of product management experience, with a strong track record shipping AI or ML-driven products
  • Deep technical intuition around machine learning systems, including training loops, evaluation, prompt design, data pipelines, and real-time inference constraints
  • Experience running structured experiments such as A/B tests and offline model evaluations
  • A true ownership mindset and the ability to drive complex initiatives across teams without waiting for permission
  • Clear, compelling communication skills for executive, technical, and operational audiences
  • Experience working in scaled, high-stakes, or regulated environments such as risk, compliance, or operations
  • Strong understanding of AI quality, safety, and responsible use
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs, multimodal models, or applied generative AI

Highly Preferred

  • Technical or analytical background
  • Domain knowledge in GTM processes (lead-to-opportunity, opportunity-to-cash, customer lifecycle tracking)
  • Domain knowledge in GTM tooling ( (e.g., CRM, outreach, campaign/journey management, CPQ, data enrichment solutions)
