What is the difference between Ai Frontend Developer vs Machine Learning Engineer?

AspectAi Frontend DeveloperMachine Learning Engineer
CredentialsBachelor's in CS, Web Development skillsBachelor's/Master's in CS, Data Science or ML specialization
Work EnvironmentWeb development teams, UI/UX focusData science teams, algorithm development
Industry UsageAI-powered web apps, interactive interfacesAI models, data pipelines, predictive systems

While both roles involve AI, an Ai Frontend Developer specializes in integrating AI features into web interfaces, whereas a Machine Learning Engineer focuses on developing and deploying AI models and algorithms. The roles often collaborate but differ in technical focus and work environment.

What is a $900000 AI job?

A $900,000 AI job typically refers to a high-level position in artificial intelligence, such as senior AI engineer, machine learning director, or AI research scientist, often requiring advanced skills in programming, data analysis, and deep learning. These roles usually involve leadership responsibilities, specialized expertise, and may be found in large tech companies or innovative startups offering competitive compensation packages. Such salaries reflect the high demand for AI talent and the complexity of the work involved.

Will AI take front-end developer jobs?

AI front-end development tools can automate repetitive tasks and assist in coding, but they are unlikely to fully replace front-end developers who design user interfaces, ensure usability, and handle complex problem-solving. Developers will need to adapt by learning new skills such as working with AI tools and understanding user experience design. Human oversight remains essential for creating effective and accessible web applications.

How much do AI coders get paid?

AI frontend developers typically earn between $80,000 and $150,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and skill level. Salaries tend to be higher in tech hubs and for those with expertise in machine learning frameworks and programming languages like Python and JavaScript.

Which 3 jobs will survive AI?

For an AI Frontend Developer, roles that require complex problem-solving, creativity, and human interaction are more likely to survive AI automation. These include positions like UX/UI Designer, AI Specialist, and Software Architect, which involve designing user experiences, developing AI models, and overseeing system integration. Continuous learning and expertise in tools like JavaScript, React, and machine learning frameworks help maintain job relevance.

Job description

Description:

This position can be 100% remote in the United States or based in one of our office locations in selected states.

Weโ€™re looking for a technically strong, product-minded AI Engineer to help design and develop intelligent capabilities directly within the software applications our customers and internal teams use every day. This is a hands-on, full-stack engineering role focused on building AI-empowered application features, not simply adding chatbot interfaces. Youโ€™ll contribute to core application development while also leading the design and delivery of practical AI capabilities such as workflow automation, decision support, predictive insights, natural language experiences, data-driven recommendations, and intelligent reporting.

Youโ€™ll work within a collaborative, cross-functional team environment to accelerate AI enablement across our product offering. This role will work closely with software engineers, product owners, and business leaders to identify high-value product opportunities, translate business workflows into thoughtful AI-enabled features, and bring intelligent capabilities to life. From pricing optimization and document understanding to predictive workflows, NLP-based user experiences, and dynamic reporting solutions.

Weโ€™re looking for someone who thrives on solving ambiguous product problems, can move from prototype to production-quality software, and is ready to help shape how our business applies AI in ways that make our applications smarter, more useful, and easier to use.

Requirements:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain full-stack features for our core business applications as an active member of a scrum team.
  • Design, build, and enhance AI-enabled product experiences, including but not limited to conversational interfaces, workflow automation, embedded recommendations, intelligent search, summarization, document understanding, and decision-support capabilities.
  • Lead the design and development of AI-empowered product features that incorporate large language models, machine learning, structured data, and application context directly into business workflows.
  • Collaborate with your scrum team, including product owners, project managers and QA, to plan, estimate, and deliver work each sprint.
  • Integrate LLMs, machine learning services, internal data sources, and application APIs into existing systems with a focus on reliability, security, scalability, usability, and measurable business value.
  • Build reusable services, APIs, prompts, data pipelines, evaluation patterns, and application components that allow AI-powered capabilities to be embedded consistently across business applications.
  • Evaluate and prototype new AI tools, models, and frameworks to identify practical opportunities for product enhancement.
  • Maintain clear, maintainable documentation for features, integrations, and processes.
  • Stay current on developments in AI and LLM technologies and share relevant applications with the team.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills

Technical Proficiency:

  • 5+ years of professional full-stack software development experience, spanning both front-end and back-end technologies.
  • 2+ years of experience designing, building, or implementing AI-enabled software features, such as retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, intelligent search, recommendation or prediction models, document understanding, natural language interfaces, workflow automation, model evaluation, and production LLM integrations.
  • Experience building MCP servers, consuming APIs, or developing integration patterns that connect AI and LLM capabilities to business applications.
  • Familiarity with vector databases, prompt engineering practices, AI evaluation methods, model output testing, and techniques for improving accuracy, relevance, safety, and reliability in production applications.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and structured data.

Tools & Processes:

  • Experience with the following tech stack: Azure AI Foundry (Azure OpenAI, Azure Cognitive Services), C#, Angular, .NET and SQL
  • Comfortable using version control systems (e.g., Git) and workflow tools like Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience working on a scrum team, including sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives.
  • Comfortable with agile estimation and iterative, incremental delivery cycles.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience designing and developing production software applications.
  • Demonstrated experience taking AI-enabled features from concept or prototype through production release, including collaboration with product, engineering, QA, and business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong curiosity and drive to explore new AI technologies, evaluate their fit for business problems, and rapidly build functional prototypes that can evolve into production application features.
  • Ability to explain AI concepts, tradeoffs, risks, and expected business outcomes to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including product owners and business leaders.
  • Experience with finance data, ERP systems, or the print/marketing industry is a plus.

What We Look For in an Ideal Candidate:

  • A builderโ€™s mindset: hands-on, solution-driven, resourceful, and able to turn ambiguous business needs into practical software features.
  • High technical aptitude with strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Someone who can move fluidly between full-stack application development, AI feature design, data-informed problem solving, and production delivery.
  • A proactive learner whoโ€™s ready to grow with us and push our AI capabilities forward within our products.
