Job description


The Director, AI & Data Transformation will be a key senior leader at Quest Workforce Health Solutions, responsible for defining and executing strategy for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Automation. We are seeking a visionary leader with a proven track record of building high-performing technical teams and leveraging automation to enhance operational capabilities, empower employees, and create new business value. This pivotal role will champion the adoption of AI to augment our products, optimize workflows, and secure a sustainable competitive advantage.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Value Creation:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive, multi-year AI and automation strategy that aligns with business objectives. Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure business impact and demonstrate the value created from all initiatives.

Team Leadership & Development:
  • Recruit, build, and mentor a team of AI, data, and automation specialists. Foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and collaboration focused on delivering impactful results.

Opportunity Identification & Enablement:
  • Partner with business leaders to identify high-impact use cases for AI and automation. Lead initiatives to optimize internal processes and workflows, driving internal efficiency and enabling our teams to focus on higher-value work, applying Lean methodologies and principles where applicable.

Technical Oversight & Execution:
  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of AI and automation projects-from ideation and prototyping to deployment and optimization. Architect and manage a scalable and secure AI infrastructure and provide hands-on guidance on the implementation of solutions like predictive models, LLMs, and large-scale automation systems.

Governance, Risk & Ethics:
  • In partnership with enterprise SMEs, establish a robust governance framework for all AI/Automation projects that aligns processes for key use cases (e.g., PHI/PII), ensuring clear prioritization, resource allocation, and risk assessment. Ensure all deployments adhere to the highest ethical guidelines and data privacy regulations, actively working to mitigate bias and operational risks.

Change Management & Communication:
  • Drive organizational change management to promote the understanding and adoption of AI solutions. Effectively communicate complex technical concepts and the value of AI initiatives to stakeholders at all levels, including the executive leadership team.

Qualifications
Required Work Experience:
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, or data science.
  • At least 5 years in a leadership role with demonstrated success in building, managing, and retaining high-performing technical teams.
  • A proven track record of developing and deploying AI-powered solutions and automation strategies that have delivered measurable business value, unlocked new opportunities, and demonstrated a clear return on investment (ROI).
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Power Point, Word and Excel. Alteryx and SQL proficiency is a plus.

Preferred Work Experience:
  • Experience with Data Analytics and RPA Platforms: Hands-on experience with data analytics and ETL tools (e.g., Alteryx, SAS), business intelligence software (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) platforms (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism)
  • Strong experience with big data technologies, MLOps practices, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects and the flow of information across multiple work groups.
  • Project management experience highly desired.
  • Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., healthcare, finance) is highly desirable.

Knowledge:
  • Deep expertise in AI/ML fundamentals, including machine learning algorithms, deep learning, natural language processing (NLP), and generative AI (e.g., LLMs).

Skills:
  • Ability to prepare and persuasively present clear and concise written communications, both in report and presentation formats.
  • Ability to make presentations in person clearly and effectively to large and small groups, including senior business leadership team and clients.
  • Ability to multi-task, use analytical skills, follow verbal or written instructions, think analytically, effectively use written and verbal communication skills, concentrate on tasks, make decisions and adjust to change quickly.

People Leader Responsibility:
  • Lead a team of direct and indirect reports

Work Environment:
  • Remote in U.S.

Education:
  • BS/BA in business, computer science or data science (Required)
  • Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related technical field is required. (Preferred)
