Do you have what it takes? Find out today - www.its4logistics.com.

Principle Accountabilities

This is a rare seat. You own AI solutions end to end at a $6B logistics company, from the business problem through to something running in production that people depend on. No layer between you and the outcome, and no ceiling on scope. You will work directly with the AI Transformation leadership team with high visibility to senior executives.

  • Own AI solutions end to end. Business problem, build, deployment, adoption, measured result.
    • Own the enterprise strategy for what you build. Understand how a solution integrates into the wider technology landscape, what already exists, and what the organization is building next, so your work compounds rather than fragments.
    • Own the ROI case. Define the metric before you start, baseline it, prove the return after, and kill things that do not earn their place.
    • Prioritize against business need. Understand where the value actually is and be able to defend why this build over that one.
    • Work directly with the business. Floor teams, operations, finance, support. The best builds come from people who understand how the work actually gets done.
    • Build enterprise-first. Architecture, security, RBAC, and design standards belong in the prototype, not retrofitted at handoff.
    • Ship from day one. We are not looking for a ramp. You should be building in your first week.
    • Hold a view on where the industry is heading, in AI and in logistics, and stay at the forefront of tools, methods, and vendors.

Position Requirements

Technical Capability

  • Production experience building with LLMs, agents, and retrieval systems. Not using AI tools, building with them.
    • Practical experience with agent loops and graph-based workflows, plus the judgment to know when a deterministic approach is the better answer.
    • You write enterprise-grade code using AI and have a process for doing it well. You know where AI-generated work fails validation and testing, and you have a method for catching it rather than trusting output.
    • Technical foundation in computer science or equivalent, strong enough to judge whether a design is sound rather than just whether it runs.
    • Genuine understanding of security in an AI context: data handling, access boundaries, what not to expose. Security at ITS is paramount and this is a first-class part of the role.
    • Familiarity with running open-weight models for in-house inference and the tradeoffs against hosted APIs is a plus.

Enterprise Judgment and Industry

  • Demonstrated enterprise thinking. You have built or owned something that had to integrate with existing systems, not stand alone.
    • Ability to define and measure ROI in dollars, hours, or service impact, and to make prioritization calls you can defend.
    • Strongly preferred: experience in logistics, supply chain, or a comparable operational industry. Absent that, demonstrated ability to get deep on an unfamiliar domain fast, because you cannot build for a business you do not understand.

Craft and Drive

  • Real design instinct. You care whether what you built is usable, and you actively build that craft.
    • Self-starting and relentlessly curious. You find problems, learn unprompted, and bring ideas forward without being asked.
    • Urgency. This role is measured in shipped solutions with documented value, not in effort.

Other

  • Reno, NV. Full-time, on-site. Lake Tahoe at your doorstep, close proximity to the Bay Area, and no state income tax.
    • The mindset we hire for: honest, adaptable, committed, with the sense of urgency to build and ship in a fast-moving, industry-leading environment.
