Agronomists research factors that affect agricultural production, such as soil quality, plant growth, and weather patterns, and develop customized solutions to help farmers improve crop yields and environmental sustainability.

Agronomist 

ABOUT EMPLOYER:
Employer is a Progressive, Farm Business Consulting agency serving northeastern Nebraska farmers for 30+ years. They are committed to serving their customers with highest quality banking, tax and agronomic advice.

This employer is assisting a forward-thinking farmer-focused agency located in Northeastern Nebraska seeking an experienced Agronomist. Primary role will be to visit fields of clients to consult on their agronomic situation and provide good, solid agronomic recommendations to the client. Duties to include crop scouting, weed and pest identification, soil sampling, visiting one-on-one with farmer clients and other agronomic duties.

Qualifications

- AAS or BS/BA Ag-related degree or relevant experience
- CCA extremely beneficial
- Minimum 3 years of crop scouting, identifying pests and weeds, and working with farmers making solid agronomic recommendations
- Good knowledge / understanding of current crop protection, plant nutrition and seed products used on eastern to northeastern Nebraska farming operations
- Knowledgeable in current infrared and aerial imagery, variable rate application, precision irrigation and other precision Ag tools
- Self-directed and customer-focused
- Computer proficient with good communication skills
