Job description

Office Services of Columbia is currently seeking an experienced Farm Manager to oversee operations at several farm locations throughout the state of South Carolina.

Position Summary

The Farm Manager will be responsible for managing the daily operations, staffing, and overall performance of multiple farm sites across South Carolina. This hands-on leadership role requires strong organizational skills, agricultural knowledge, and the ability to manage people, resources, and schedules across geographically dispersed locations. The ideal candidate is proactive, adaptable, and comfortable balancing fieldwork with administrative responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day farm operations across multiple locations, ensuring productivity, safety, and quality standards are met
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise farm staff and seasonal workers
  • Coordinate planting, harvesting, livestock care (if applicable), equipment use, and maintenance activities
  • Monitor crop and/or livestock health and implement best practices for yield and sustainability
  • Manage farm supplies, inventory, and vendor relationships
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal agricultural, labor, and safety regulations
  • Develop and maintain work schedules, workflows, and operational procedures
  • Track budgets, expenses, and operational performance; provide regular reports to leadership
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and respond effectively to weather, staffing, or production challenges
  • Travel regularly between farm locations within South Carolina
Qualifications
  • Previous experience managing farm operations or agricultural teams (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of general farming practices, equipment, and labor management
  • Proven leadership and staff management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple sites, priorities, and schedules simultaneously
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable working both outdoors and in an office/administrative setting
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel frequently within South Carolina
  • Basic computer skills (scheduling, reporting, email, spreadsheets)
Preferred Experience
  • Experience overseeing medium-sized or multi-location farm operations
  • Knowledge of South Carolina agriculture or regional growing conditions
  • Supervisory experience with full-time and seasonal farm labor
  • Background in budgeting, planning, or operational reporting
