Position Overview: The Plant Manager is ultimately responsible for the actions of all employees under their supervision as well as the efficient and safe operation of their plant and equipment.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Promote a safe work environment and support all safety initiatives.
  • Oversee material sales of ready-mix concrete.
  • Responsible for staffing, scheduling and ensuring timely delivery of cement and all other necessary supplies to plants.
  • Supervise all the employees assigned to work from the plant and will be responsible for discipline as well as driver and customer relations.
  • Oversee safety training of all employees reporting to the plant in each aspect of safety, inspecting the plant weekly and performing a daily maintenance inspection.
  • Ensuring that Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures are functional and in place at each plant, working with Operations and Area Managers to ensure that all plants comply with air quality, water quality and other EPA regulations, and conducting bi-monthly safety meetings with the plant crew.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Report to the assigned job site in uniform and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Environmental, Health & Safety Manual.
  • Strict adherence to Pike policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education/Experience
  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in all aspects of batching, dispatching, delivery of concrete, as well as previous supervisory skills.

General Requirements
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and dependable transportation to and from the job site.
