Job description

TriCounty Materials and Services was established in 2005 to serve the construction industry throughout the DFW Metroplex. We provide dependable aggregate and earth-building materials and are committed to producing quality products. With locations in Sanger and Gainesville, Texas, TriCounty Materials proudly serves customers across North Texas.

We are currently seeking a self-motivated and dependable Plant Maintenance Technician to join our Bearhead Quarry team in Gainesville, Texas.

As a Plant Maintenance Technician, you will support our aggregate and crushing operations by performing preventive maintenance and responding to emergency repairs. You will work closely with the Plant Manager to identify repair needs, prioritize daily maintenance tasks, and ensure equipment reliability. You will report any important findings and repairs that need to be scheduled to the plant manager. Being able to think and act on your own is very important in this role.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine plant inspections and complete daily preventative maintenance and safety checks.
  • Replace or repair screens and conveyor systems.
  • Use welding, cutting and fabrication skills to repair or reinforce plant components as needed.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools including grinders, cutting torches, impact wrenches and more.
  • Maintain tools and equipment in safe, working conditions.
  • Maintain safe work area for all present.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of aggregate and crushing plants.
  • Excellent verbal, written and telephone communication skills.
  • Able to read equipment operating manuals.
  • Basic to intermediate welding and fabrication experience.
  • Ability to operate equipment if needed.
  • Able to complete pre and post shift inspection report.
  • Possess basic mathematical aptitude to complete reports.
  • Able to wear all required safety equipment.
  • Able to perform duties in a safe manner.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Prior maintenance experience in aggregate and/or mining operations.
  • Minimum of High School Diploma/GED
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Flexibility for overtime and weekends, as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing/walking- 8-10 hours daily
  • Bending/Stooping- 8-10 hours daily
  • Repetitive Movement (Shoveling/Sweeping)
  • Able to climb on and off equipment to operate and service.
  • Capable of lifting and carrying 50 lbs.
  • Able to work at various heights.

Working Conditions:

  • Inclement weather
  • May have exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, etc.
