Job description

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage transmission capital projects from project authorization through construction and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project scope, schedules, budgets, forecasts, and risk mitigation plans.
  • Lead project teams comprised of Subject Matter Experts from various business units.
  • Coordinate project activities across many stakeholders that include but are not limited to engineering, environmental, permitting, land services, construction, operations, outage planning teams, etc.
  • Lead project team meetings and provide regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Monitor project performance and drive resolution of scope, schedule, cost, and resource challenges.
  • Support development of project estimates, business cases, and funding requests.
  • Coordinate contractor and consultant activities throughout project execution.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety requirements, engineering standards, environmental regulations, and regulatory commitments.
  • Support transmission outage planning and coordination to minimize operational impacts during project execution.
  • Identify and manage project risks and implement corrective actions to maintain project objectives.
  • Review and approve project documentation, change requests, and contractor deliverables.
  • Facilitate project closeout activities, including turnover to operations and lessons learned documentation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Project Management, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum 6 years of project management experience within a utility, engineering, construction, energy, or infrastructure environment.
  • Experience managing projects with responsibility for scope, schedule, budget, and risk management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Utility transmission project experience.
  • Experience supporting transmission line, substation, relay, protection and control, or grid modernization projects.
  • Knowledge of electric transmission systems and utility operations.
  • Experience coordinating transmission outages and construction activities.
  • Familiarity with utility capital project processes and governance.
  • PMP certification or progress toward certification.
  • Experience working with external engineering firms, contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Work Environment

  • Hybrid work arrangement with minimum of 3 days per week in office.
  • Travel to project sites, substations, operating centers, and stakeholder meetings as required.
  • Ability to support multiple concurrent transmission projects across a diverse project portfolio.
