What We're Looking For:

Michael Baker International is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support and grow our municipal infrastructure practice in the Chicago region. This role leads the delivery of roadway, watermain, and storm sewer projects for local agencies, while building strong client relationships and contributing to practice growth.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead planning, design, and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, and project performance
  • Oversee multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants
  • Provide technical oversight for roadway, water, and stormwater design
  • Ensure compliance with IDOT BLRS and local agency requirements
  • Serve as primary client contact and support repeat business
  • Contribute to proposals, client meetings, and business development
  • Mentor staff and support team growth

What You Need to Succeed:

  • 10+ years of municipal or local agency project experience
  • Experience with IDOT BLRS and Illinois local agency projects
  • Bachelor's in Civil Engineering required
  • Illinois PE (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • Strong project management, communication, and client skills
  • Experience with MicroStation/OpenRoads and related tools preferred

Compensation

The approximate compensation range for this position is $115,478 to $180,344. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting.  Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
