Job description

A civil engineering firm in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Public Works Flood Control Project Manager to lead flood control and stormwater infrastructure projects for public sector clients. This role requires strong technical expertise in hydrology/hydraulics along with hands-on public agency project management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage flood control and stormwater management projects for public agency clients from planning through construction
  • Lead hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, design, and permitting for flood control infrastructure
  • Serve as primary liaison with public agencies, regulatory bodies, and municipal clients
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams including engineering, environmental, and construction staff
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to meet public agency requirements
  • Prepare and present technical reports and project updates to public stakeholders and agency boards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; PE license required
  • 5+ years of experience in flood control, stormwater, or public works infrastructure project management
  • Strong background in hydrology/hydraulics (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, or similar modeling tools)
  • Experience working directly with public agencies and municipal clients in Arizona preferred
