Job description

The Food & Beverage Operations Manager is responsible for directing, coordinating, and supervising all concession and bar-related activities for Dazzling Nights™, an entirely outdoor immersive event hosted in all weather conditions. This role focuses on efficient concession operations and positive guest experience across all stations throughout the event.

Working closely with Event Operations and Guest Experiences leadership teams, the Food & Beverage Operations Manager ensures food service and frontline events teams are properly deployed, supported, and operating efficiently throughout the event lifecycle.

This is a SEASONAL position with an expected start date on or around September 15th and end date on or around January 15th.  Opportunities to continue in full-time regular role beyond the expected end date may be available and not guaranteed or predicted.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee permanent and portable stands, bars, sub-contracted locations, and vending operations during outdoor events.
  • Establish food, beverage, and operational needs for event and non-event days.
  • Supervise and direct all outdoor concessions, bar, and non-profit organization staff, including supervisors, in preparation, service, clean-up, and stocking to ensure quality control standards.
  • Train concessions, bar, and non-profit organization staff, including cashiers and stand attendants, to ensure high-quality, efficient, and profitable food service.
  • Ensure compliance with security, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Enforce responsible alcohol service policies.
  • Maintain inventory levels for distribution and controls.
  • Be familiar with food and beverage service equipment as well as unique tented structures to ensure efficient outdoor operations.
  • Manage effectively in a fast-paced, diverse environment, focusing on client and guest services, entrepreneurship, and business growth.
  • Manage logistics involved with the advancement and onsite production of beverage programs.
  • Act as the primary contact for contracted event vendors.
  • Ensure that events and food & beverage aspects meet all safety and security requirements for participants and vendors.
  • Maintain compliance with all state and county health and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • 2–4+ years of Food & Beverage Operations experience, preferably in outdoor event concessions
  • Prior experience leading F&B service teams in high-volume environments; experience in live event concessions, festivals or large-scale catering preferred.
  • Proven experience leading others in fast-paced service environments
  • Experience managing POS systems and training others to effectively operate them
  • Ability to provide strong attention to detail while managing multiple projects and priorities
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
  • Must be able to assist with physical set-up of tables and service equipment, some of which weighing in excess of 50 lbs.
  • Familiarity with general computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite as well as Google Workspace applications.
  • Current ServSafe Food Manager certification required (or ability to achieve certification within 30 days of start date); responsible alcohol service certification preferred.
  • Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Full-time Seasonal role with schedule flexibility based on business needs.
  • Work on-site required during event dates, preview and post-production.  Office or remote work as available during pre-production prior to November.
  • Evening, weekend, and extended on-site commitments are expected during installation, rehearsals, event operations and dismantle.
  • On-site and event work will include outdoor site locations of varying weather conditions as well as active construction or production settings.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting Rate of Pay $28.00-30.00 per hour, depending on prior experience
