Fuel Manufacturing Facility Shift Manager
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for leading and managing a team of 3-4 supervisors on periodically rotating shifts reporting to the unit manager level. The Shift Manager will ensure all fuel manufacturing process areas are operated safely and in full compliance with all defined procedural, regulatory, and quality requirements. This position is responsible for managing the operating resources required to meet the fuel production schedule, within budget costs such that optimum utilization of manpower, equipment and materials are achieved while meeting production objectives.
Location:
On-site in Erwin, TN.
Your Day to Day as a Fuel Facility Shift Manager:
1. Ensuring operations are conducted in full compliance with Safety, Regulatory, and Quality requirements.
2. Execution of daily, weekly, and monthly operational plans as assigned by the Facility and/or Unit Manager.
3. Provide oversight of critical operations to manage safety risk and to mitigate potential impacts to quality.
4. Studies and understands applicable process areas and equipment, procedural requirements, and the labor contract.
5. Reports equipment malfunctions, procedural deviations, absenteeism, accidents, and other unusual events.
6. Reviews and approves applicable records such as runsheets and/or other process area documentation.
7. Administers disciplinary action when required and promptly addresses employee performance problems.
8. Responsible for issuing work requests for equipment repairs and overall support of the Work Management process.
9. Coordination of work activities and support needs between operations and other supporting organizations.
10. Ensures the timely training and qualification of both salaried and hourly employees.
11. Responsible for hiring, mentorship, and evaluation of salaried direct reports.
Required Qualifications:
B. A. or B. S. degree -- Science or Engineering preferred OR 8 years of operations experience in a nuclear or chemical production facility.
With a B. S. degree, six - eight years of supervisory/management experience in a technical production environment, nuclear facility or military facility. Without a B. S. Degree, over 14 years of supervisory/management experience in a technical production environment, nuclear facility or military facility.
