THE ROLE
As the Booking Manager for the Long Beach Amphitheater, the primary responsibilities are to book and develop events and manage event files. Candidate must be an initiative-taker, highly motivated, extremely organized and have a great personality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with key touring industry professionals, including agents, managers, promoters, and producers.
  • Manages ASM Booking calendar, including adding, editing and/or removing events and event holds, and responds to building availability requests in a timely manner.
  • In collaboration with facility departments, research and prepare data that supports the booking efforts for specific artists, shows and events.
  • Lead the creation of memorable venue experience for artist and tour personnel.
  • Obtain information from various agencies on talent availability for events.
  • May require attending conferences/trade shows (IEBA / Billboard)
  • Generate new business through cold calling and leads generated by attending networking meetings.
  • Monitor ticket counts, on sale ticket counts and final show settlements.
  • Compiling and maintaining all event show folders with contracts, Certificates of Insurance, and general event correspondence, including final artist and venue settlement information
  • Assist in the preparation and design of promoter guides, advertisements, and other promotional materials.
  • Develop and maintain a productive working relationship with all facility departments.
  • Aggressively promotes the use of the facilities to maximize its utilization.
  • Negotiates lease agreements as determined necessary and in the best interests of the facilities.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with the Client/Contract
  • Administrator, boards, tenants, government departments and agencies, entertainment/convention industry, community, and civic organizations to encourage continual and regular use of the facilities.
  • Assists and coordinates with the development of the annual operating calendar, activity schedules, projections for attendance and/or revenue.
  • Conducts post-event operational and financial review and analysis.
  • Supports/assists Regional General Manager with coordination of Regional Booking Group(s) on regular basis.
  • Works with agents, mangers, promoters, and producers to book concert, non-concert events, family shows, and other venue content in order to maintain calendar fulfillment.
  • Live event coverage as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all Legends & ASM policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Business, Advertising or Marketing or related field preferred.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience booking large scale events and collaborating directly with agents and promoters within the industry.

Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, organizational ability, and interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of the music and performance industry
  • Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic
  • Computer skills including Microsoft office and other marketing specific programs.
  • Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information.

  • Ability to anticipate problems and implement immediate corrective action.
  • Ability to perform effectively under significant pressure typically associated with meeting the demands and timetables of the entertainment industry.
  • Strong orientation towards hospitality/customer service for the meeting, convention, and entertainment industry
  • Basic knowledge of facility operating standards, building maintenance, custodial, personnel and office management

  • Ability to work and lead in a team environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to normal business hour as needed.

  • Some travel required.
  • Background and Credit Checks will be required as condition of employment.

COMPENSATION
Competitive salary, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.
Salary Range: $77k-$90k
