Job description

Overview

At UF Health Shands Hospital, our Abdominal Advanced Practice Provider (APP) team is dedicated to delivering evidence-based, comprehensive and innovative care to our medical-surgical patient populations, specifically within the UF Health Liver Transplant programs.

In this role, the APP will operate in a highly autonomous practice setting, while collaborating with both the abdominal transplant team and the colorectal surgery team to ensure high quality patient care is delivered. Our Liver Transplant program is proud to be rated as the #1 Liver Transplant Program in the United States by the Scientific Registry of Transplant Recipients. The duties of the APP include diagnosis, treatment, and provision of care to our patients, as defined by the APPs scope of practice.


Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Master's degree in Nursing.

Credentialing: Must meet requirements set forth by the Medical Staff Office to obtain and retain privileges to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse within UF Health Shands Hospital and/or the Shands UF Healthcare Network, as applicable.

Additional Requirements Specific Area or Specialty --/-- Additional Requirements: Adult ICUs --/-- AGACNP required. ICU Experience preferred.

Emergency Medicine --/-- AGACNP required. Emergency Medicine Experience preferred.

Pediatric ICU --/-- PNP-AC required.

Neonatal ICU --/-- NNP required. NICU experience preferred. Surgical/Operative Adult --/-- APRN with RNFA required.

Adult Clinic/Primary Care --/-- AGACNP, AGPCNP, or FNP required.

Pediatric Clinic/Primary Care --/-- PNP or FNP required.

Nurse Midwife --/-- CNM or APRN with Florida license to practice midwifery required.

Psychology/Psychiatry --/-- PMHNP required.

Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position: Will not operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current and clear license (or eligible to be licensed) as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the State of Florida. BLS is required.
