Essential Job Functions:

  • Meets or exceeds sales goals
  • Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment to generate new business for the organization’s products/services
  • Helps determine pricing schedules for quotes, promotions and negotiations
  • Prepares weekly and monthly reports
  • Gives sales presentations to a range of prospective clients
  • Coordinates sales efforts with marketing programs
  • Understands and promotes company programs
  • Obtains deposits and balance payments from clients, prepares and submits sales contracts for orders and maintains client records
  • Answers client questions about credit terms, products prices and availability
  • Visits clients and potential clients to evaluate needs or promote products and services
  • Adheres to business and employment compliance requirements of the company
  • Any other duties as requested directed or assigned by the VP of Sales
  • Designated Safety Sensitive Position

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience (Licenses and Certifications):

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the agricultural or food industry
  • Ability to travel to and within the assigned sales territory
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to operate motor vehicles in the course of employment

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • An in depth understanding of the sales process and dynamics
  • A commitment to excellent customer service
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to build rapport with customers, suppliers, and co-workers
  • Ability to proficiently use computers for a variety of tasks, including competence using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

Working Hours:

  • Standard workdays are Monday through Friday 8am-5pm and as necessary to complete the requirements of the position.
