Job description

The position of Embedded / Electrical Engineer will work both locally as well as with US and international teams to support our existing product lines, develop new variant products as well as new novel products. They will also help us develop new methods and techniques to better understand our customer’s needs and to move new products through the development process.

Qualifications

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develops a solid understanding of our current technologies and product lines.Partner with Sales and Marketing to deeply understand our customer’s work environment and needs
  • Works alone or in teams to develop new or variant products including ownership of hardware and firmware design elements. Teams will include internal cross-functional members as well as team members from other parts of Inficon and/or customers.
  • Serve as a Project Engineer on new and sustaining development projects. In this capacity, the candidate will work to ensure that all team activities required for a successful product launch are completed as required to meet the project schedule.
  • Prepares technical documentation for new products and engineering procedures. Development of test plans and reports as well as design documentation to support production and vendors.
  • Works with Customer Service to determine root cause of customer issues and identify solutions.
  • Partner with the Purchasing department to find and maintain the best vendors for our needs.

Qualifications:

  • MS or BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical degree with 4+ years of product and technology development experience.
  • Significant experience with firmware, software, hardware design (Ecad) as well as schematic capture and board layout. Experience with OrCad design tools preferred.
  • Significant experience with modern coding techniques as well as coding development tools. Strong debugging skills along with hands-on hardware experience. Must have C/C++ development experience for embedded systems. Proficiency with RTOS systems is a plus.
  • Ability to help create development tools, systems, and methods to maintain a rapidly growing product portfolio. Familiarity with or interest in applying AI tools to hardware development.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, set schedules and work various projects to achieve overall business goals. This will include a level of comfort in “shifting gears” as required to meet both external and internal customer needs.
  • A passion for learning, technology, science, and tools as well as an ability to help others get excited about new technologies. The ideal candidate will have some experience with vacuum technologies and/or the semiconductor manufacturing industry.
  • Motivated by launching products which meet significant customer needs
  • Experience designing and testing for regulatory standards (e.g. Safety, EMC, etc.)
  • Positive, self-motivated personality with a service-oriented attitude that contributes to our culture of trust and collaboration. Great communications skills.
  • Role will require some amount of international and domestic travel. Typically, 1 to 2 trips per years of 1-3 weeks.
Additional Information

The expected salary range for this position is between $110,000 and $140,000 per year. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition, INFICON employees are eligible for a profit-sharing bonus with a target of 10% as well as 401K match up to 8% (vesting schedule).
