Job description

Position Overview

Kid City USA is seeking a dynamic and engaging After-School Teacher / Program Specialist to lead our after-school program for school-age children. This role is responsible for creating a structured, fun, and educational environment that supports academic success, creativity, and physical well-being.
The ideal candidate is energetic, organized, and passionate about working with children, with the ability to design and implement a well-rounded daily program.
Key Responsibilities

  •  Develop and implement a daily and weekly schedule for the after-school program 
  •  Supervise and engage children in a safe, nurturing, and structured environment 
  •  Provide homework assistance and academic support to students 
  •  Plan and lead STEM-based activities, including: 
    •  Hands-on science experiments 
    •  Basic computer skills and digital learning 
    •  Robotics and engineering projects 
  •  Organize and facilitate outdoor and physical activities to promote health and teamwork 
  •  Encourage positive behavior, social development, and peer interaction 
  •  Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment 
  •  Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding student progress and behavior 
  •  Ensure compliance with all Kid City USA policies and state licensing requirements 
  • Pick up children using school van.
Qualifications

  •  Experience working with school-age children (preferred) 
  •  Strong organizational and classroom management skills 
  •  Ability to create engaging lesson plans and activities 
  •  Basic knowledge or interest in STEM education (science, technology, engineering, math) 
  •  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  •  CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) 
  •  Must pass all required background checks 
Preferred Qualifications

  •  Background in education, child development, or a related field 
  •  Experience with robotics, coding, or STEM programs 
  •  Previous after-school or camp program experience
