Job description

Practice Medicine Without RVUs

Fair Oaks Wellness Center, San Antonio, Texas

Practice Medicine the Way You Always Imagined

Do you miss having the time to truly listen, educate, and help people improve their health? AtHealth by Design, we've built a practice model that allows physicians to focus on what matters most-caring for patients.

Our value-based primary care model eliminates the pressure of RVUs and high-volume schedules, replacing them with meaningful patient relationships, collaborative care, and the time to practice thoughtful medicine.

We're currently seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Family or Internal Medicine Physicianto join our exceptional team at ourFair Oaks Wellness Centerin San Antonio, where you'll care for a unique all-adult patient population of retired San Antonio Firefighters, Police Officers, and their dependents.

If you're looking for a career that offers professional fulfillment without sacrificing your personal life, we'd love to talk with you. Because healthier patients-not RVUs-define success here.

Practice Medicine-Not Production Medicine

Forget the pressure of seeing 25-30 patients every day. Our physicians typically see8-14 patients daily, allowing you to provide comprehensive, personalized care instead of rushing from room to room.

You'll have:

  • 30- and 60-minute appointments
  • Smaller patient panels
  • Time to educate patients
  • Time to build relationships
  • Time to focus on prevention and long-term wellness

A True Collaborative Care Team

You are never expected to manage everything on your own. Our integrated care model surrounds both physicians and patients with an experienced multidisciplinary care team that works together every day.

On-site resources include:

  • Registered Nurses (not Medical Assistants)
  • Clinical Pharmacist
  • Licensed Professional Counselors
  • Physical Therapy (on-site)
  • Ultrasound Services (on-site)
  • Health & Nutrition Coaching (on-site)
  • Exercise Classes (on-site)
  • Cooking Classes (on-site)
  • Care Coordination support with Nurse Navigators

Work-Life Balance Isn't a Buzzword Here

We believe great physicians deserve lives outside the clinic.

That's why we offer:

  • Monday-Friday schedule (8:00 AM-5:00 PM)
  • No evenings, No weekends, No call, No after-hours charting
  • Dedicated administrative time built into every day (Administrative time is intentionally built into both your morning and afternoon schedule, allowing documentation to be completed during your workday-not after dinner.)
  • Clinic closes daily from 12:00-1:00 PM for lunch

Focus on Prevention. Not Just Prescriptions.

Our providers are encouraged to practice whole-person medicine. Rather than simply treating disease, you'll help patients improve their health through:

  • Lifestyle Medicine
  • Preventive Care
  • Chronic Disease Management
  • Nutrition Education
  • Exercise Programs
  • Behavioral Health
  • Patient Education
