Job description

PET Molecular Imaging Technologist

Contract: 3 months (W2) | Location: Houston, TX (Onsite) | Schedule: Primarily Wednesday–Saturday, full-time hours, with flexibility based on patient volume

What your week looks like

It’s Wednesday morning in our fast-paced Houston imaging center. You review the day’s PET schedule, prep tracers, and ready the suite. Your first patient arrives—anxious but curious. You complete a thorough assessment, place an IV, and explain the PET process. With ALARA front of mind, you administer the radiopharmaceutical, position the patient, and capture high-quality images. Between cases, you verify records, restock supplies, and ensure radioactive materials logs are precise and compliant. A critical finding appears on an afternoon scan—you promptly escalate it to the clinical team. By Saturday, you’ve supported care both in the PET suite and at an off-site location, collaborating with colleagues and sharing best practices. Recent graduates bring fresh energy—and are paired with experienced technologists for hands-on training.

Core impact
  • Execute Nuclear Medicine and PET imaging studies with accuracy and compassion
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and precisely
  • Conduct patient assessments, perform IV insertion, and deliver clear education
  • Champion patient safety, respond to emergencies, and uphold infection control
  • Adhere to ALARA and all radioactive material compliance standards
  • Maintain imaging rooms and supplies; document patient data and imaging records meticulously
  • Recognize, document, and escalate critical imaging findings
  • Support patient care across assigned areas and off-site locations as needed
QualificationsRequired
  • Associate’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field
  • ARRT or NMTCB certification
  • Texas Medical Board (TMB) CMRT license
  • Current CPR certification
  • At least 1 year of Nuclear Medicine/PET imaging experience (Recent graduates with clinical experience may be considered)
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • PET certification
  • ACLS, PALS, or PEARS certifications
  • Additional Nuclear Medicine or imaging experience
Why this contract
  • Primary PET focus with opportunities to broaden your skills
  • Training available for driven technologists eager to learn
  • Virtual interview process for a smooth hiring experience
  • Onsite role with schedule flexibility aligned to patient care needs
