Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day
Join our team as Bid Manager in our Grid Consulting business! The day kicks off with a thorough review of project updates to stay informed on the latest developments and client communications. Morning briefings with the international project team address ongoing bids, tackle technical challenges, and prioritize daily tasks. Direct communication with clients is essential for discussing new project proposals and clarifying their requirements, ensuring all bid deliverables meet their needs. The afternoon focuses on coordinating and refining proposals with a global team of expert consultants, while also overseeing critical power system studies and engaging in strategic planning sessions with senior management to align bid goals with broader company objectives.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Lead and manage large-scale power system consulting bids, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.
  • Coordinate and oversee the preparation of technical and commercial proposals, ensuring they meet client specifications and regulatory compliance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining effective communication and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the bid lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including consulting, engineering, finance, and legal departments, to align bid objectives and strategies.
  • Monitor and report on bid progress, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies to avoid delays or cost overruns.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and regulations to enhance service offerings and maintain a competitive edge.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, power systems engineering, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.
  • Proven experience in power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, dynamic and transient stability, harmonics analysis, and sub-synchronous control interactions.
  • 5+ years' experience in bid management within the power systems or energy sector, demonstrating the ability to lead and manage large-scale bids, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Experience in writing and coordinating technical proposals and bids for power system projects, showcasing strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage client relationships and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in power systems engineering, along with the ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing project requirements and deadlines.
  • Willing to travel 10% domestically and internationally.
Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
