About This Role

We're seeking a dedicated and caring individual to join our late afternoon program for 3-6 year olds in the 2025-2026 school year. This role requires a commitment to working 2:30-5:30pm daily, with options to add hours as a substitute. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating a nurturing environment and be willing to learn and adopt Montessori practices, with experience in classroom or afterschool programs being a plus.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and happiness of our extended-day children.

What You'll Do

Key responsibilities include:

  • Fostering a supportive environment that aligns with the Montessori philosophy and promotes children's social-emotional growth
  • Maintaining a clean and safe classroom and outdoor space, adhering to high standards of organization and presentation
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant licensing regulations and standards
  • Being punctual and mindful of absences, taking proactive steps to minimize their impact on the children

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A high school diploma, with early childhood certification or equivalent being highly desirable
  • Experience working with young children in a leadership capacity
  • The ability to work reliably, consistently, and flexibly, with a genuine love and understanding of children
  • The willingness and ability to spend time on the floor and engage with children at their level

Nice To Haves

While not essential, prior experience in a Montessori setting would be a valuable asset.
