License: Active Registered Nurse License
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, NIHSS
Must-Have: EPIC experience required
Description:
Unit does not accept any applicants with license hits related to diverting medications or endangerment.
Immediate contract cancellation will result if these issues are identified.
Must have 100% EPIC experience with no exceptions.
A cancellation policy allows for one shift per two-week period.
Requests for time off can be made up to 10 days without hospital approval for clinical prescreening.
Requests exceeding this amount or involving holidays need hospital approval.
Two or more years of experience required, including at least one year in a trauma center.
First-time travelers are not accepted.
Certifications required: PALS, BLS, NIHSS, TNCC, ACLS, and ENPC.
Emergency department has a four-zone layout with nurses and medical support technicians assigned per zone, along with a resource nurse.
Includes a charge nurse, patient flow coordinator, triage nurses, and protocol nurses.
Total of 55 beds and 8-12 swing beds, with four trauma bays.
A fast track system is available, known as accelerated care.
There is a separate triage area in the facility.
Travelers may be required to complete additional triage orientation and competency testing before performing triage duties.
RNs manage their own long holds if necessary.
There are separate psych/seclusion rooms monitored 24/7.
In-house security is present.
An average of 250 patients is seen daily, with staff-to-patient ratios of 4:1 for the main ED and 5:1 for accelerated care.
Colleagues include charge nurse and house supervisor, along with medical support technicians, emergency department techs, and patient sitters.
RNs and medical support technicians perform ECGs and can draw ABGs.
RNs transport critical patients, while medical support technicians assist with drawing blood.
Shifts are variable, with every other weekend and holiday requirements.
There is no call or standby requirement, and no floating is necessary.
Scrub color is royal blue for nursing staff.
Unit-specific orientation involves a first day with leadership and 2-3 shifts of bedside orientation.
Opportunities for outdoor activities include running, hiking, and access to numerous parks and trails.
Nearby attractions include national parks, beaches, and various cultural landmarks.
Dining options range from food trucks to elegant restaurants.
