Job description

Boiler, Refrigeration & Process Piping Plumber

Picture this: It’s early at Ken’s Foods in Marlborough, MA. Production lines are prepping to craft our signature dressings, marinades, and BBQ sauces. A boiler alarm pings. You’re on it — diagnosing a steam irregularity, restoring pressure, and keeping the day on track. By afternoon, you’ve moved on to a sanitary weld on stainless process tubing, then tuned a compressor in the plant air system. That’s impact.

About Ken’s

We’re a family-owned company founded in 1958, still proudly run by the same family. Our state-of-the-art operations span Marlborough, Massachusetts; McDonough, Georgia; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Lebanon, Indiana, employing more than 1,000 people nationwide. Join a place where the culture is warm, the tools are modern, and your growth matters.

Compensation & schedule
  • Hourly pay: $38–$48.47
  • Primary schedule: First shift; able to support other shifts when required
Your mission
  • Hunt down and resolve issues in plant plumbing and piping systems across boilers, compressed air, sump pumps, irrigation, and related utility lines
  • Install, service, and repair industrial piping and facility plumbing throughout the plant and grounds
  • Use strong pump theory knowledge to operate, troubleshoot, and overhaul pumps
  • Diagnose pneumatic system problems and return them to reliable operation
  • Thread and fit pipe in iron, steel, stainless steel, copper, and PVC
  • Build reliable joints with PRO Press
  • Weld (gas and arc) and solder; execute sanitary welds to certification standards
  • Read manuals and prints to identify and order the right parts and materials
  • Communicate instructions clearly — both spoken and written — and document your work
  • Complete preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to reduce downtime
  • Operate and maintain boiler systems
  • Operate and maintain refrigeration systems
  • Advance programs that protect food safety, reinforce food safety culture, preserve quality, and maintain spotless facilities
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Massachusetts Journeyman Plumber license (required)
  • Certified sanitary welder (preferred)
  • EPA Universal (preferred)
